By 1985, Luis Fernando Figari, our founder, had already in his heart and mind the founding of a sodalit (sow-dalit) ecclesial movement. He had been praying about it, as he usually does, especially in relation with important decisions. The Holy Spirit had touched him when in Rome he saw the movements as an answer to the evangelization needs of the future. He had a first hand experience. Invited by Pope John Paul II to give a Catechesis about Love in Saint Paul Out of the Walls, he spoke to more than 12 thousand young men and women. It was during the first world youth encounter, the "Youth Jubilee" during the Holy Year of Redemption (1983-1984).

In 1994 all Sodalit Family members received with joy the news of the approval by the Holy See of the Christian Life Movement. That made it a world wide Catholic association of faithful of Pontifical Law, better known in our days as Ecclesial Movement. Its first General Coordinator was Germán Doig (pronouced Herman with the accent in the a). He was called to the Father in 2001.
